Check list for preproduction work

This is a checklist to make sure we have got all aspects of the pre-production completed.

  1. The whole film synopsis has been completed and uploaded
  2. Our target audience and likely certificate have been taken into consideration in the genre mix of thriller and investigation.
  3. We have represented social groups through characters via costume, hair & makeup and dialogue.
  4. We have completed the 2 animatics and story boarded up to 120 seconds (2 minutes).
  5. We have all considered the settings, locations for travel cost and everything else that needs to be considered to narrow down to our three filming locations.
  6. We have considered props, hair and makeup. We have managed to get all our props fairly easily as they're casual items most households have such as a shovel, hair and makeup are also important parts to our movie. The investigator has a professional look. No facial hair, smart hair style while Rick will have messed up hair and a scar along on of his cheeks showing the rough life he has been through
  7. I have personally thought about lighting and colour lots for each scene as it was one of my jobs. Other member of the group have looked at the lighting and colour as an important part and have been feeding ideas into the pre-production scenes,
  8. We have thought about body language and facial expression on each of the characters in their certain situations. We also understand we are doing this in a professional environment and we are acting, which is completely different to filming ourselves and our friends.
  9. We have designed the costumes for the characters to fit their roles. We are borrowing stuff from the science department at Central Sussex Haywards Heath and the rest is from us or our families.
  10. We have thought about composition in the storyboard and have experimented with it so that we know what to put into production.
  11. We have lots of areas we could put MOA in and already have dialogue which has S/RS. We have also made it possible for as many of these techniques to be used in the storyboard.
  12. For sound we have planned out to have no music track as its important to hear the dialogue which is giving out the plot to the audience and advancing the story. We feel we will most likely have long eerie sounds which are emphasized. We have all done sound editing and uploaded it onto our blog.
  13.  We have experimented and rehearsed some of the key scenes too make sure the dialogue is not 'cheesy' and have been making make up scar affects.
  14. We have got all permissions sorted and evidenced. They are both electronic means making it easier to evidence.
  15. We have talked to other students who do not take media to look at our plot line and everyone in our target audience thought it would be "cool" or "interesting". However people outside of the target audience also liked it but there was few negative comments about it. This means that we have hit the right audience for our movie plot.

Pre-production is complete. Time to film!

  2. Overall, this is higher level 3 work. Try to be consistent with levels of detail, varied formats and detailed explanations.
